OUR STORY
In the beginning, we were just 3 freedivers sharing the same passion: a love for all things freediving, from which flowed naturally a love of the oceans that cover our planet.
I started freediving as a teenager, fascinated by the mysterious emptiness that seems to exist in the space between two breaths. It started me on a lifelong journey of exploration that took me to the far corners of the Earth. Gradually, my journey evolved from a personal challenge as Freediving World Champion into one that was more concerned with sharing the breathless experience of the oceans, the discovery of freedom of movement and stillness of the mind.
Julie was my perfect partner in crime when we started making underwater videos together that showed freediving in a new light. Instead of diving lines and performance stress, we developed a more poetic vision of freediving, one composed of freedom of movement, elegance, mystery and exploration of the blue oceans that cover the biggest part of our planet. These videos went viral around the world and conquered a whole new audience for the aquatic lifestyle.
When we met Bastien, he had already travelled his own personal journey, moving from the hectic city life of a designer, marketeer and communications expert in his native France to travel extensively in Asia in search of a simpler life. Along the way he found freediving and turned into a real freediving nomad, using his skills to develop his new love: bringing people together in creative projects, trying to change our attitude towards the environment.
Each of us had spent so much time in and around the oceans that we couldn’t help but be aware of the impact that human activity has on them and the world as a whole. So the conversation very quickly turned to a question: Could we not put our love of the ocean and freediving into something new: a brand that would reflect the lifestyle of the new aquatic nomads of today but with an unwavering commitment to be 100% ecologically sustainable?
From this dream, Bluenery was born: a brand to express the aquatic lifestyle in a new way, one that will show the spirit of pursuit of the essence, reflect the freedom of movement without gravity and above all, a way that will respect the world around us.
